All of the Lights

This is just a little update for you guys. I’m leaving Colchester today for London, then tomorrow I’m off with some friends to a little town called Rye, about 2 hours south of London, to go to Bangface, a neon-rave weekend festival. It’s everyone’s first time proper away from their family so we’ve been hyped-up since we decided that we were going (which was about February) and we’ve been counting down the days forever; when we started it was 110 days away, now it’s only 24 hours away! Don’t get me started with the costumes… Between the four of us, we’ve probably spent over £400 on wig, accessories, costumes, neon-paint and glitter and (it’s horror themed this year) fake blood. Our costumes, especially mine, are a little overboard. I’ve got two main costumes, Lola, a Brazilian drag queen who just happens to also be a vampire and Barmey Brenda with the Hidden Agenda, who is just a plain old slut. Were probably going to be drunk the entire time anyway, so I don’t think any of us will have any self-awareness whatsoever. In short, it’s all good.

So after we get back on Monday night, the next day I have to haul myself (and all my costumes and clothes) up to Norwich, to see a friend and go to a gig (the things I do for music and friendship) for three days. I won’t be back in Colchester until Thursday night (just in time for Curry Club…) and I don’t expect to have any blog posts up until after next weekend and no more construction on the website either. The only thing I will probably update is the quotes (something I have come to love about Tumblr), but apart from that, expect a two week period of inactivity. I know it’s long, but this is like a holiday for me and I can’t believe, after all those months of waiting, that it’s finally less than 24 hours away! In regards to the construction, you’ll notice that the About Me section has disappeared. I’ve been trying to get as much of it done as possible but there just isn’t enough time anymore. Well, this is me signing off. I’ll be back in about a week with some more critical commentary and opinionated guff, so until then, peace out.
